West One is a fashion retailer with over three decades experience in the UK market. We have a strong regional brand with stores on many high streets and some of the best-known shopping centres throughout the UK.

The majority of West One clothes are produced in the UK by UK employees working for a decent wage. It takes no air miles to deliver them to you and so you can buy them safe in the knowledge you are helping sustain a British Industry and doing your bit for the environment. With everything from jeans to dresses, shoes to jumpers and bags to belts we can kit you out for a night on the town, find you that perfect dress for the best friend’s wedding or the outfit for that all important interview...

In 1977, West One was founded with one clear aim - to bring smart, fantastic fashion to the UK high street. Over the years we have stayed true to our values but have evolved and developed whilst continuing to provide superior garments to our customers. For over 30 years we have built relationships with some of Britain’s best clothing manufacturers. This allows us to offer you high quality fabrics, prints & sensational designs that you just won’t find in other high street chains. In many of our stores you will also be able to find a range of shoes, bags, and jewellery that complements these unique designs & helps you create your own unique style.

Over the years West One has redefined its image and position in the market.

The company has shifted to a simple, modern, clean design. Exquisite merchandising, excellent shop designs, wooden hangers and a state of the art I.T. stock control system has also been developed. The merchandise has been upgraded by using better quality fabrics whilst maintaining a range of exclusive prints and designs. Nearly 90% of West One merchandise is produced under the company’s own label with the majority being UK manufactured, ensuring a quick and efficient response when particular trends develop. Shoes, accessories, bags and jewellery have been introduced to complement each season’s ranges. Our customers may have stayed loyal but our brand has changed over the years to give the image of today.

Our history

West One is a privately owned company. The first West One store was opened in Coventry in 1977, 30 years later we still have a branch there today. Our second store was in Uxbridge, with a small warehouse and office running from its second floor.

Over the years the company grew and developed. Coventry like all our stores has evolved as the image of the Company has changed and developed to strengthen and secure its customer appeal. We now have stores in some of the country's biggest and best shopping centres such as Westfield in the Midlands, The White Rose Centre near Leeds and Merry Hill. We have recently opened our new flagship store in the Meadow hall centre near Sheffield.

The company now trades from nearly 20 branches across England, with a head office, state of the art stock control system and large distribution centre on the A40 corridor.

Corporate Responsibility

West One has a strong and underlying commitment to ethical trading, grounded in the belief that being in business doesn’t mean throwing your ethics out of the window. We firmly believe that building meaningful long term relationships with suppliers and employees is good business practice for us and is what our customers expect of us. This is, and always has been, the founding principle of our Corporate Social Responsibility.

Environment

In all West One stores, at our head office and warehouse we are committed to operating in a way that is mindful of the demand on our planet's limited resources. We have incorporated the use of renewable energy sources into our operations, recycle hangers and have attempted to reduce the amounts of product packaging.

West One is committed to cutting waste and recycles wherever possible.

West One Charity Drive

The West One charity drive was established in 2003 following the death of a valued shop manager from liver cancer. Through the efforts of our staff we raised over £7,000 for cancer research UK.

Since then the Charity Drive has gone from strength to strength. We’ve raised tens of thousands of pounds for various national and international charities. This year we have sponsored the education of three Tibetan Children in a refugee camp in Nepal through the Pema Ts’al Sakya Institute where one of our employees previously volunteered as a teacher.
